Thank you for your interest in Kerns Construction Specialists, Inc. I would like to take some time to tell you about myself, my company and what we can do for you.

I am proud to say that my wife Pam and I have been married for twenty-eight years and have two children. Our son Will graduated from Regis University, earning his MBA and CPA, and now works as an accountant. Our daughter Holly graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in marketing from The Leeds School Of Business, and now works in sales. I am entering my 29th year of business in 2010, and 35th year in the construction industry. In 1997, I was chosen as one of the "Big Fifty" remodelers by Remodeling Magazine. With two full-time employees and myself, we are a small company known for high-quality craftsmanship.

During your project you will be working with me, personally, from start to finish. I take care of the bidding process, all necessary design work and changes, scheduling, job supervision, material purchasing, and accounts payable and receivable. My crew and I will do all the demolition, framing, interior trim, mechanical, and plumbing work. It is a great advantage for us (and thus you) to do all this work ourselves. This makes it easier to keep schedule, and more importantly, keep close control of the quality of work being done and assure that it is being done correctly.

By the time I finish bidding a job, I know it like the back of my hand. This makes it an easy task to follow through with effective supervision and make changes that can benefit you by lowering the cost of the job. As a very organized individual, I am able to keep a tight schedule and stay attentive to minor details — something all of my customers will attest to. When we are finished with a job, I can proudly say that there is virtually no punch list. Since we do most of the work ourselves, it is easier to do it right the first time. Close supervision also helps. I once completed a $175,000 remodel for a customer, and the architect was shocked not to have a single item on his punch list. This was the first time it had ever happened to him. We always think about the finished product while framing the job.

One of the things I am most proud of is the fact that 100-percent of my work is by customer referral. I have developed long-standing relationships with my past customers and I have a great repeat client list. Over the years, I have continued to do many small jobs and even "handy-man" jobs for these customers. They know they can trust me and ask me for advice whenever they encounter a problem, or even if they just need some help. For these reasons, I am providing you with a list of referrals that I encourage you to use. Given the chance to work on your project, I am confident that you will feel the same.

My goal is to make you another one of my life-long clients.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Dan Kerns

"Unlike some other companies, I don't bid out every job to different subcontractors looking for the cheapest price. Once I find quality subcontractors, I keep them. I look for excellent work at a fair price."
